Welcome! Thank you for visiting my legislative website and allowing me to serve you in Southwest Washington. Here you can learn more about me, my priorities, and how I'm serving you in the state Legislature. If you would like to stay connected with me, please sign up for my email updates.

I decided to serve as your legislator in the 18th District because under the leadership of Governor Inslee and the Democrats in the state legislature, we've seen higher taxes and rising crime in our communities. I know we can do better, and I will be a voice of reason in Olympia as I work to make our state a better place to live and raise a family.

As the daughter of a 31-year police detective, I also understand the importance of public safety. I support the men and women of law enforcement who work tirelessly to keep us safe. As a former small business owner, I also support pro-business legislation and I will work to improve our children's education.

I am incredibly grateful to have your support and I look forward to building a better Washington.

Please contact me if you have questions, idea, or concerns. I would love to hear from you! Thank you for trusting me to represent you and our great district in Olympia.

My Priorities

Empowering parents to help their children succeed

There are many excellent teachers and schools in our district and throughout Washington. However, the school shutdowns and pandemic restrictions were hard on students, teachers, and parents. As our children work to catch up academically, it’s important for parents to know what is happening in their classrooms and how they can help. As parents, we deserve, and should be able to expect transparency. I believe the Legislature can, and should, play a key role in empowering parents.

Making public safety a priority

Crime is out of control in many places in our state. Criminals feel emboldened while many people do not feel safe in their communities. Public safety should be a top priority of government. Unfortunately, in the 2021 legislative session, Democrats passed legislation that took important tools away from law enforcement that were used to keep our communities safe. While some of these problems were fixed in the 2022 legislative session, with the support of Republicans, more work remains to be done – especially on the issue of vehicular pursuits. Republicans introduced the Safe Washington Plan, but many of the proposals were ignored by the majority party.

Providing meaningful tax relief for everyone

The biggest missed opportunity of the 2022 legislative session was not providing struggling individuals and families with tax relief. While many Washingtonians endure inflation and high gas prices, state tax collections have remained strong. Budget writers had a $15 billion surplus when they created the 2022 supplemental operating budget. Unfortunately, Democrats provided no real tax relief. In contrast, House Republicans continue to offer real solutions in 2023 to provide significant tax relief and lower the cost of living for individuals and families.

Holding state government accountable

The governor, other statewide elected officials, and state agencies should be held accountable for their results. While we have a lot of great state employees, we have seen too many high-profile failures of leadership in state government that have had serious consequences for people’s lives. Our state also needs emergency powers reform to restore balance in state government. While our governor needs the authority to respond quickly to certain emergencies, there needs to be limits and legislative involvement. No one person should have this much control over our lives for this long. Republicans will continue to advocate for emergency powers reform.
