Rep. McClintock sponsors student from Yelm as House page

Yelm High School student, Chloe Jordan, recently spent a week at the state Capitol in Olympia to serve as a page in the Washington State House of Representatives. Although Chloe’s state representative is 2nd District House Republican Leader J.T. Wilcox, R-Yelm, she was sponsored by Rep. Stephanie McClintock of the 18th Legislative District.

“I really enjoyed working with Chloe this week,” said McClintock, R-Vancouver. “She was energetic, thoughtful, and hard-working. I appreciate her hard work and willingness to come to Olympia and participate in this great program. She has a bright future.”

During her week serving as a page, Chloe attended Legislative Page School every day to learn about the three branches of state government, the lawmaking process, and the importance of civil discourse.

She also had the opportunity to carry out numerous important duties that help the Legislature operate efficiently.

Chloe, who is 15 years old, enjoys several activities outside of school, including photography, whittling, reading, writing, and aviation. To become a page, applicants must have a legislative sponsor, be between the ages of 14 and 16, and obtain written permission from their parents and school.

Pages earn $50 per day while serving in the program. For more information about the House Page Program, click here or type this link into your browser:
