Rep. McClintock sponsors high school student from Battle Ground as House page
Prairie High School student, Addison Randall, recently spent a week at the state Capitol in Olympia to serve as a page in the Washington State House of Representatives. Addison was sponsored by Rep. Stephanie McClintock of the 18th Legislative District.
“It was a pleasure to sponsor Addison in Olympia this week,” said McClintock, R-Vancouver. “She is a talented young woman with a positive attitude and lots of enthusiasm. She is bright, thoughtful, and hard-working and did an excellent job as a page. I enjoyed working with her.”
In addition to working with McClintock during her week serving as a page, Addison attended Legislative Page School every day to learn about the three branches of state government, the lawmaking process, and the importance of civil discourse.
She also had the opportunity to carry out numerous important duties that help the Legislature operate efficiently, including delivering messages and documents to legislators and staff, and assisting on the House floor.
Addison, who is 15 years old enjoys politics and softball in her free time.
Each year, students from around Washington apply to participate in the House Page Program. To become a page, applicants must have a legislative sponsor, be between the ages of 14 and 16, and obtain written permission from their parents and school. Pages earn $65 per day while serving in the program.

“The page program is a great way for students to get an inside view of the legislative process,” said McClintock. “Any student from 18th Legislative District interested in being a House page, who meets the eligibility requirements, can participate in the program. It would be wonderful to work with more of the great young women and men from our area.”
For those interested, the House maintains a list of local families who host pages, which includes specific information about charges and accommodations.
Charges for housing can range between $200 – $250 for a 5-day week, which includes breakfast, dinner, and transportation to and from the Capitol each day. Pages can also stay with friends, family, or in a hotel in the Olympia area.
Additionally, scholarships may be available to defray the costs.
